“Chip Away At It.”
A quote from one of my role models go’s as such. “Chip away at it.” This motto is a tool that I use in my day to day and a comforting phrase when I Feel dull or unmotivated. Every day I do the same few tasks that are slowly, “chipping” away at the man I want to be. The man that I will become at 35 is made by day to day positive habits like weightlifting, meditation, reading up on stoic philosophy, and various other habits of that nature. Simply chip away at the clay on your sculpture everyday and that is great progress! My mind is healthy because I know that I am on the right path and my life has meaning! Chip away at it every day! The successful men that you and I admire were made from years of chipping away at it and years of drudgery. Not wanting to meditate, or not wanting to go to the gym. But small tasks like that add up to the big picture and not only that, they put your mind at peace. When you tell yourself you will hop into that terrible fucking cold shower and you hop in and your gasping for air, and once you get out, there is a wave of dopamine rushing to you and your mind is healthy! Yes! I am on the path and I am doing well! You are doing well man, I see you chipping away at it everyday. I cant wait to your sculpture.
“Well-being is realized by small steps but is truly no small thing.”
– Zeno. Stoic Philosopher
“Each day, acquire something that will fortify you against poverty, against death, indeed against other misfortunes, as well and after you have run over many thoughts, select one to be thoroughly digested that day.”
– Seneca, Stoic Philosopher
